The Spiritual Pillar of Ultimate Potentials is responsible for the connection to the energy within us, as well as our energy interacting with other individuals. This Pillar houses your true self and is where you connect to your source.
With hectic, fast paced lives, it can be hard to make time to spend with loved ones. For some, in the hustle and bustle of daily life, we lose track of time. Our responsibilities and obligations can get in the way of us spending time with those we care about the most. That being said, connecting with your tribe and nurturing your close relationships has benefits for both you and your loved ones.
Powerful social connections can make you feel stronger, more loved, and supported, which will in turn enhance your performance in daily life. Studies have shown that spending time with loved ones is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle, it can be on par with physical health and wellness (diet, exercise, and so on). Maintaining your personal connections is beneficial to your loved ones as well—chances are that they also are trying to make time to see you as well!
All of this being said, wanting to spend time with your loved ones doesn’t necessarily make it seem easier to do so. Knowing that it is beneficial to our health doesn’t necessarily make it easier to implement in our day to day lives. So, how can you manage your time so that it’s possible to spend time with loved ones?
Making time, while it can be difficult, does not have to be impossible. Organizing your time in advance can help greatly, but most of all, try starting small! Instead of planning a weekend together, meet for coffee for an hour after work or between classes. A small amount of time is better than no time at all!
When you do get a chance to spend time with your loved ones, it’s important to make sure you are absorbing and cherishing their company. Optimize your time with your loved ones by communicating with them, making sure to ask about their lives, catching them up with your own life, and telling them that you appreciate them.
Unfortunately, we cannot add more hours in the day, and we cannot easily change society so that our schedules can accommodate time with our loved ones. However, we can all take steps to acknowledge that we must prioritize time with our loved ones, as it as just as much an important part of becoming a healthy individual as diet and exercise.
Our mental health informs our overall health, and we should all be aware of all the different factors at play and take care of ourselves as much as possible.
